Danny    Thompson,    Freelance    Copywriter

The world sticks to the paved roads. The roads are paths paved by industry. The paths are trails widened by the marketplace. The trails are hacked by the Weird, who leave the paved road for the sake of curiosity and wonderment. Where the Weird go, the world follows.

A Little More About Me.

Words captivate me.

I’ve been at their mercy for the better part of two decades. Over the last five, they have been kind enough to help me put food on the table and clothes on my boys.

Certain words have a tendency to get me into trouble–usually the words I wonder and what if. I’ve followed those words into some remarkable places—most of them good, some not so much. I still hear them calling me to come play from time to time. Fortunately, I don’t have the sort of free time I used to.

Some words are costly. Right now, as a parent of three small boys, the costliest words I know are diapers, shoes and amoxicillin. They all tie for first, with oops and I didn’t do it! close behind. But over the course of my life, I’ve found that the costliest words are so what and not right now. I try to avoid them as much as possible.

Today, I suppose you can say I’m sort of a word counselor. I seem to just have a knack for the way words work together as a team. Sometimes you need your words to be teachers, sometimes salesmen. They can work powerfully to heal, to hurt, to persuade, to rouse, to defend and to soothe.

The offical title for the work I do is Copywriter (That is, I write copy…I don’t copyright. That’s something completely different). Whoever you are, whatever you do, if you need to get someone to take a specific action, whether it’s to better help a customer or to buy a six million dollar condo, I can assemble just the right words to convince them.

Here you can find samples of my work, how to contact me and a whole host of other info. Look around. If you like what you see, give me a call–or shoot me an email–and let’s talk about how the right words can help your business succeed.
