Technical Writing & Training Programs
Technical writing has evolved dramatically over the last decade. For the longest time, users manuals and SOPs were written by the engineers, developers and risk managers that developed the product, service or program. Which is fine if you’re writing for other engineers, developers or risk managers.
But for the average layperson or front-line employee, the jargon and complex sentence structures made for dense, hard-to-understand instructions.
Then someone somewhere got the idea to take those instructions and give them to someone who specialized in communications in order to take those complex directions and relay them clearly—but accurately—to the average person.
Over the last ten years, I’ve put together everything from an ISO9000 program for a logistics company to a 500-page New Homeowner’s Guide for a residential developer to a product guide for a systems manufacturer for public utilities. I’ve also created training programs for software systems and customer service programs.
If you need writing that is methodical and thorough, yet still engaging and easy to understand, I’d love to discuss the details of the project with you.
